Hello PHamily!
There will be ONE LAST parent/coaches meeting held at the Penn Hills Senior High School this Wednesday at 6pm in the cafeteria. Thank you to the 30+ parents who showed up last week.
There is another team that has been playing in Penn Hills the last 3 years, but was part of the City League. As of last Tuesday, the school board and athletic department has ruled in favor of our program being the only youth football program able to use the High School field, as well as being the feeder program to the middle and high school teams. A significant reason why is because we will play in the Big East Football League and face the same teams that our HS and MS programs do. While the PHMFA has strongly attended every meeting and been open to talks the last 4 months, it was not until this ruling that they have expressed the same interest and urgency.
The point of this meeting is to resolve any confusion about how we have gotten to where we are and if we will move forward as one program or two. The majority of the conversation will be around which league to play in, the City or Big East. But…. Regardless of the outcome of this conversation, we are moving forward with the school district, the Big East, and our program.
If you want to come support or want information, please come out. If not, I understand and will send an update afterwards.
