Coaches and Jim, quick question... this
is Coach Tony... I may be able to make this year's pre-season camp(s). I don't know what has been done at previous camps, because I couldn't make them, so I'm asking, what do you think of a 'blocking' section for kids to cycle thru?
Everyone would go thru it each day. Everyone needs to learn proper stance and how to block, but the main goal is to get ahead of teaching linemen proper stances and blocking technique BEFORE we start our first day of practice. I believe all levels were behind in blocking due to the kids' lack of knowledge.
I, and whoever wants to assist, would run that blocking section as each group cycles thru. This way there may be less teaching of stances, arm placement and technique and more teaching of plays when we start the season.
Comments?

This is an excellent suggestion. We did run stations at camp last year if I remember correctly. Something we should continue in 2023. We are not limited to any league restrictions at this time as we have been in the past, so scheduling should be more accommodating to whatever routine we decide on.
